Case Study: Hillsborough Community College

Hillsborough Community College

Business Goal: While certain campuses and groups of Hillsborough Community College have a presence on some of the new media platforms, there was no "official" presence for the College. As a result, administrators concluded that they needed to create this "official" presence in order to connect with current and prospective students and ultimately, to grow their student body.

Solution: After analyzing HCC's presence on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and mySpace, and evaluating the presence of five comparison schools, Visual Alliance Media set a strategy to create a Facebook Fan Page, Twitter Account and YouTube Channel that would give HCC the "official" presence they desired and that would enable them to leverage new media to further connect with their current students, staff and administrators, as well as to generate interest with prospective students.

Outcome: HCC now has an official presence on the leading new media platforms. Working with their internal departments, the Visual Alliance Media team is helping to bring integration among the various other campuses and groups using new media and is working to build the Fan and Follower base on Facebook and Twitter, respectively.
