The vast majority (more than 85%) of everything that happens on the Internet starts from a search engine (yahoo, google, etc). Any business that has a website and has a target market that uses the Internet can benefit from an online marketing plan so that it can be sure to get in the top couple of pages of the search engines. There area variety of ways your can achieve this goal and I thought I’d share a few ideas for you to consider as you build a new site or update your existing site.  

SEM (Search Engine Marketing) covers all types of marketing involving a search engine. There are primarily two main areas – search engine optimization (SEO) and pay per click (PPC). PPC is a very powerful marketing channel that allows businesses to advertise on a search engine by bidding on specific keywords that when searched will trigger your ad to show. Recently I developed a website for a company that had a fairly well established customer base however they wanted to start providing online services so that when their retail store location was closed, their customers could shop at their convenience. Google vs Yahoo – Which Should You Focus On?
